Journey of RTI act from birth to an adult -Weapon against corruption or monetary gift for Ex, Babus?
RTI and transparent govt-Needs for overhauling. These burning issues will be debated by RTI activists at Ambala Cantt. On March 25, 2023, The RTI act introduced by UPA Govt, and known as its biggest achievement for bringing transparency in governance and checking corruption has now become an adult man.Since its inception it has seen many ups and downs, its dilution, killing and persecution of activists, misuse by certain vested interests, efforts by BJP govt for diluting it etc. etc.
Gurugram bases RTI activist Harinder Dhingra who has to his credit of thousands of successful RTI applications, first appeal with appellate authority and with information commission feels and regrets that systematic efforts are being done for diluting the act and is hopeful that the above conference of activists will help in making strong public opinion for checking efforts for its dilution.
This scribe who has also worked as an activist also feels that this should be strengthened instead of its dilution in the larger interest of checking corruption which was eating our society.

On basis of my forty eight years’ experience as a journalist with Indian Express, Jansatta and other papers and magazines I can firmly say that in Haryana unholy nexus of politicians and Babus are looting and plundering the state putting even Mohammad Gajanan to shame. I hope that the conference will motivate the activists and check corruption.
