Gurdaspur, 19th May: In a major counter-espionage breakthrough, the Gurdaspur Police has arrested two individuals for allegedly leaking sensitive military information related to Operation Sindoor to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. The suspects, identified as Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh, were reportedly involved in sharing classified details concerning troop movements and strategic positions across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Acting on credible intelligence received on May 15, the police apprehended both men and seized three mobile phones and eight live cartridges (.30 bore) from their possession. A forensic analysis of the devices confirmed the exchange of critical information with ISI handlers.

According to the initial investigation, the accused were in direct communication with Pakistani operatives and had shared sensitive inputs that could have compromised national security. An FIR has been registered under the Official Secrets Act at Dorangala Police Station.

Authorities stated that further interrogations are underway, with more revelations anticipated as the investigation progresses. The Punjab Police reiterated its firm stance in protecting national interests and affirmed its solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces.

“Any attempt to undermine the security of our armed forces will be met with firm and immediate action,” a police spokesperson said.
