Gujarat Assembly Elections: Congress Releases Its 2nd List of 46 Candidates

Ahmedabad, 11th Nov. The Congress Party has released its second list of 46 candidates for the Gujarat Assembly elections slated to be held in December.

The party has declared a total of 89 candidates so far. Last Friday, the Congress released its first list of 43 candidates for the elections.

Arjanbhai Bhudia of Bhuj, Bhikhabhai Joshi of Junagadh, Aslam Cyclewala of Surat East, Ashokbhai Patel of Surat North, and Kamlkumar Patel of Valsad are among the candidates named in the second list released on Thursday.

The Congress is clearly trying to depose the BJP from power in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat, where the saffron party has been in power for more than two decades.

The 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be elected in two phases on December 1 and 5. The vote counting will be held on December 8.
