Union Home Minister Amit Shah Chairs High-Level Meeting on Manipur Security

New Delhi, 18th June. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah chaired a crucial meeting on Monday in New Delhi to assess the security situation in Manipur. The meeting focused on strategic deployment of central forces to restore peace, ensure safety of citizens, and manage relief camps effectively.

Commitment to Security and Peace
Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the Government of India’s commitment, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to ensure the safety and security of all Manipur citizens.

He directed stringent legal actions against perpetrators of violence and ensured adequate provisions in relief camps.

Rehabilitation and Ethnic Harmony
Amit Shah instructed the Chief Secretary of Manipur to prioritize health, education facilities, and rehabilitation for displaced individuals. He highlighted the Ministry of Home Affairs’ efforts to facilitate dialogue between Meiteis and Kukis to foster ethnic reconciliation.

The meeting was attended by top officials including the Chief of Army Staff, Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, and senior Army and Ministry of Home Affairs officials.
