Govt Aims to Provide Electricity, Gas Connections to Every Household: Amit Shah

Ahmedabad, 2nd July. Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects in Ahmedabad today.

These development projects worth Rs 33 crore belong to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Railway sector. On this occasion, he also dedicated the Chandlodiya-Khodiyar Railway Under-Bridge. This will provide more amenities to the people while also reducing traffic congestion.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah stated that the Modi government has accelerated the development of railway facilities in Gujarat. He noted that today is an important day for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha and Sabarmati Assembly Constituencies.

He mentioned that “railway facility, which includes a modern reservation counter, a new railway platform at Chandlodiya Station, waiting rooms, and other amenities, will make life easier for people in this region.

He also announced that ten more long-distance trains will stop at the Chandlodiya, Ambli, and Sabarmati Railway Stations beginning today.

Mr. Shah also launched a tree planting campaign in Hebatpur, Ahmedabad, with the goal of planting one lakh trees. On this occasion, he stated that the COVID pandemic has taught us a valuable lesson: oxygen is vital for survival.

He stated that while a number of new initiatives have been implemented to reduce air pollution, the only way to obtain natural oxygen is to plant as many trees as possible.

He claimed that over the last two years, two crore trees have been planted in Gujarat. He urged government agencies and the general public to plant trees with long life spans. Mr. Shah has accomplished his three-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency, which began on Friday.

Mr Shah stated that the government intends to connect every household to electricity and gas.

He also stated that the government, led by Prime Minister Modi, aims to provide a home for every poor person in the country by 2024. He noted that Gujarat has been developing for the past 20 years and will continue to develop in the coming 30 years.

Mr. Shah launched the “Smoke Free Village” campaign in Modasar village, Sanand Taluka, Ahmedabad district, by distributing cooking gas kits to the residents. On this occasion, he also launched the Thalassemia Free Gujarat campaign.

He also laid the foundation stone for a 500-year-old ancient Banganga Lake beautification and renovation project in Modasar village. He urged people to build or renovate 75 lakes or ponds in each district as part of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations.

Yesterday, Mr. Shah laid the groundwork for various development projects worth a total 210 crore rupees in Gandhinagar district. He laid foundation stones for lake renovations in Rupal and Vasan villages, two railway overbridges in Kalol taluka, and a four-lane road connecting Vishwa Umiya Dham.

Mr Shah stated on this occasion that the central government has included the Vardayini Mata temple of Rupal village in the PRASAD scheme. He asserted that the Vardayini Mata temple will hold a special place on India’s tourist map.

Mr. Shah’s Rajat Tula was performed with 120 kilograms of silver at the Vardayini Mata temple in Rupal village on this occasion. As per Mr. Shah, the silver donated by various donors will be used to renovate various temples in Rupal village.

He laid the foundation stone for two railway overbridges on the Pansar-Dingucha-Vadu-Langhnaj road and the Gandhinagar-Vavol-Chhatral road. Each of these two bridges will cost 50 crore rupees to construct.

The construction of these overbridges will take 18 months. Vishwa Umiyadham’s four-track road will cost 17 lakh rupees to complete. The lake in Rupal village will be beautified at a cost of 6 crore rupees.

Mr. Shah also dedicated 280 government employee housing units at Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar, built at cost of 86 crore rupees, a 6-lane flyover at Tarapur, worth 7 crore rupees, and the Sakhi one-stop centre at Gandhinagar civil hospital, built at cost of 50 lakh rupees.
