Government Announces High-Level Appointments Across Key Ministries

New Delhi, 5th Jan. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has announced several high-level appointments and promotions across ministries and departments to enhance administrative efficiency.

Major Appointments:

1. Faiz Ahmed Kidwai (IAS, MP:96):
   • Appointed as Director General, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation.
   • Will serve at the rank of Additional Secretary, with the Recruitment Rules temporarily kept in abeyance.
2. Akash Tripathi (IAS, MP:98):
   • Appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power.
   • Previously served as CEO, MyGov, under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
3. Kamal Kishore Soan (IAS, JH:98):
   • Appointed as Additional Secretary & Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
   • The position has been upgraded from a Joint Secretary post for this assignment.
4. Ashutosh Agnihotri (IAS, AM:99):
   • Appointed as Chairman and Managing Director, Food Corporation of India (FCI), with the rank of Additional Secretary.
5. Shubha Thakur (CSS:89):
   • Appointed as Additional Secretary, Inter-State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs.

In-Situ Promotion:

• Vinay Kumar (IAS, BH:99):
  • Promoted to Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.
  • This promotion is personal to him, involving the temporary upgrade of his current post.
