Chandigarh, 20th April. Parkash Singh Badal, the former Punjab chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal patriarch, who was admitted to a private hospital in Mohali, passed away on Tuesday, party sources said. He was 95.
Badal was admitted to the Fortis Hospital in Mohali over a week ago after complaining of difficulty breathing.
According to medical officials, he passed away at 8 p.m.
Badal was in the hospital’s intensive care unit, where medical professionals were constantly monitoring his health.
Sources in the party confirmed on Tuesday that the senior leader has died.
