Bengaluru, 14th Nov. Former Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman K Marigowda appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday for questioning in connection with the MUDA site allotment scam. Marigowda, who resigned as MUDA chairman last month citing personal reasons, arrived at the ED office in Shantinagar, Bengaluru, to record his statement.
The central agency’s probe follows a series of recent interrogations, including Raichur Congress MP and former IAS officer G Kumar Naik, as well as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s personal assistant, C.T. Kumar, both of whom were questioned for several hours on Wednesday.
The MUDA scam investigation centers around alleged irregularities in the allocation of 14 premium sites in Mysuru, reportedly tied to a land acquisition deal involving CM Siddaramaiah’s family. A case was previously registered by the Lokayukta police against CM Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi B M, brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, and others regarding the acquisition of 3 acres and 16 guntas of agricultural land in Kesare village, linked to the premium site allotments.
The ED also conducted raids in Mysuru to investigate potential money laundering in the case, based on a complaint by activist Snehamayi Krishna. Further developments in the probe are expected as Marigowda and other associates continue to face questioning by the ED.
