Bhopal, 16th Dec. Former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has written a letter to Madhya Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Ravi Malimath, seeking forgiveness for two ABVP functionaries who were arrested for using a judge’s car to transport a sick person to a hospital in Gwalior.

Himanshu Shrotriya (22), the secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in Gwalior, and Sukrit Sharma (24), the deputy secretary, were arrested on Monday under the MP Dakaiti Aur Vyapharan Prabhavit Kshetra Adhiniyam, an anti-dacoity law. They had taken the car’s key from the driver at Gwalior railway station and used it to take Ranjeet Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of a private university in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, to a hospital.
On Wednesday, their bail was rejected, and they are currently in judicial custody.
The ABVP is the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
