New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will launch the “NITI NCAER States Economic Forum” portal on April 1, 2025, in New Delhi. The portal has been developed by NITI Aayog in collaboration with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) and will serve as a comprehensive repository of state-level economic, social, and fiscal data.
The platform consolidates 30 years of data, covering the period from 1990-91 to 2022-23. It will provide valuable insights into macroeconomic trends and state finances, enabling better policymaking and economic analysis.
The portal features four main components. The State Reports section summarizes key macroeconomic and fiscal trends for India’s 28 states. The Data Repository categorizes data across five verticals—demography, economic structure, fiscal trends, health, and education. The State Fiscal and Economic Dashboard offers graphical representations of economic indicators, allowing users to compare data across states. Additionally, the Research and Commentary section will provide expert analysis on state finances and fiscal policy.
Designed to support policymakers, researchers, and analysts, the portal will facilitate data benchmarking, making it easier to compare state-level statistics with national figures. It will also enhance accessibility to consolidated sectoral data, fostering informed discussions on economic development.
By offering historical trends and real-time analytics, the platform aims to become a central hub for research and policy formulation. Users will be able to track progress, identify emerging patterns, and formulate evidence-based strategies for development.
