Tirupati, 20th Oct. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman offered prayers at Lord Venkateswara’s ancient hill shrine in Tirumala, near here, on Thursday.
Sitharaman arrived here on Wednesday with her family on a three-day visit and worshipped at the shrines of Goddess Sri Padmavathi here and Lord Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy at Kanipakam, 70 kilometers away, before reaching the sacred hills on Wednesday night.
After staying overnight in the hills, the Union Minister visited the temple and worshiped Lord Venkateswara this morning, according to a temple official.
TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy and TTD Additional Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy greeted her warmly upon her arrival at the shrine, according to the official.
Officials said, Sitaraman will worship at Sri Vaayulingeswara Swamy, one of the country’s famous ‘Panchbhutha shrines,’ in Srikalahasti, 40 kilometers from here, on Friday.
