Noida: A fire broke out at a building in Noida’s Sector-18 on Tuesday afternoon, causing panic among residents. Joint Commissioner of Police, Shiv Hari Meena, informed ANI that the fire occurred at Krishna Plaza in Sector-18. Upon receiving the alert, emergency teams, including fire services, quickly responded and extinguished the blaze within a few minutes.
“People were evacuated, and those feeling unwell were sent to the hospital for treatment,” Meena confirmed. Initial investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. “We have checked all the floors but will recheck for any individuals trapped inside,” he added. Further details on the fire are awaited.
This incident follows another major fire in New Delhi’s Zakhira area on Monday, where a slipper and shoe-cutting waste godown caught fire near the railway line. The fire spread to an area of approximately 1,000 square yards, damaging ten railway signal boxes located nearby due to the waste.
Delhi Fire Service confirmed that five fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, and as of now, no casualties have been reported. The service stated, “Fire broke out in a shoes and slipper cutting waste godown near the railway line in an open area of approximately 1,000 square yards, and fire also spread to ten railway signal boxes due to waste near the Railway line. No casualty reported.”
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of both incidents.
