Mumbai, 15th Oct. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis expressed optimism on Tuesday regarding the upcoming assembly elections, stating that the state awaits a “strong mandate” for the Mahayuti alliance to facilitate development.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the election schedule, with voting set for November 20 and results to be declared on November 23. In a message on X, Fadnavis referred to the elections as the “biggest festival of democracy,” likening the anticipated results day to Diwali, a festival of lights. He urged voters for their blessings and support for a strong mandate focused on development.

Fadnavis highlighted the BJP’s past electoral successes, noting the significant victories recorded in the 2014 and 2019 assembly elections. He called for unity among supporters, encouraging participation in large numbers to celebrate Mahayuti’s anticipated victory on November 23.

The Mahayuti alliance includes the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP, and Ajit Pawar-helmed NCP. In contrast, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) comprises Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP), and Congress.
