New Delhi, 13th March. Kiran Kumar Reddy, the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, has resigned from the Congress.

In response to Reddy’s resignation, Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Manickam Tagore stated that those who received everything from the party and finished the Andhra Pradesh Congress now leave for the BJP.

Reddy was the last undivided Andhra Pradesh chief minister.

Reddy wrote in a letter dated March 11 and addressed to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, “Please accept this letter as my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress.”

Reddy previously resigned from the Congress in 2014 in protest of the then-UPA government’s decision to split Andhra Pradesh and carve out Telangana.

He founded his own political party, Jai Samaikyandhra Party, but rejoined the Congress in 2018.
