Jaipur, 10th Nov. The Election Commission issued a notification on Thursday for the bye-election to the Sardarshahar assembly constituency of Rajasthan.
After the death of Congress MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma, the seat became vacant.
According to the notification issued by the Chief Election Office, voting will take place on December 5 and votes will be counted on December 8.
According to the election schedule, the deadline for nominations is November 17, and nominations will be scrutinized on November 18. The deadline for withdrawing nominations is November 21, said Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta.
Gupta said that in the bye-election, 2,89,579 voters from the Sardarshahr assembly constituency will be able to vote, with 295 polling stations.
For a long time, the Congress held the Sardarshahr (Churu) seat. Bhanwar Lal Sharma, 77, passed away on October 9th after a long illness. He served as MLA seven times.
Assembly elections are scheduled for the end of next year in the state.
