New Delhi, 29th June. K. Sanjay Murthy, the union education secretary, urged for the inclusion of the PM Gati Shakti scheme study in curricula.
In this regard, the Secretary stated that it is crucial for academic institutions to comprehend the significance of the Government of India initiative.
Murthy stated today that these academic institutions have the capacity to significantly contribute to the advancement of change through the dissemination of high-quality knowledge and pertinent research in the infrastructure and logistics sectors.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics, NITIE Mumbai hosted an online workshop on “Leveraging Satellite communication, Geo-informatics, and Geospatial technology for urban planning and to promote multimodal logistics” (BISAG-N).
- Sanjay Murthy stated that “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has stressed leveraging the capabilities of Gati Shakti platform by all the state governments to scale up their efficiency and economy,” in reference to the conference of chief secretaries that took place in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, last week. He added that Gati Shakti is being discussed in business and infrastructure circles.
- Sanjay Murthy applauded NITIE’s efforts, led by Director Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, for developing a model curriculum and courses in logistics and supply chain management that other prestigious institutions could adopt.
He also suggested that AICTE develop thorough course curricula for various subjects in order to train faculty. Notably, NITIE Mumbai is the Nodal Hub for Supply Chain Management and Logistics Capacity Building.
Dr. T.P. Singh, Director General of BISAG N, gave a thorough presentation on the use of geospatial and emerging technologies for the integrated management of Multimodal transport.
He discussed how rules are a crucial component of planning. In order to develop an integrated infrastructure, he emphasized the holistic approach, which includes visualization planning, regulatory approvals, prioritization and synchronization, and monitoring.
Dr. Poonia, vice-chairman of AICTE, emphasized the significance of faculty capacity building.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director NITIE, hosted the workshop and provided an overview of the importance and scope of the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan. He also discussed the general strategy for advancing the PM Gati Shakti plan through NEP 2020.
Several distinguished directors of the IITs, IIMs, NITs, and CFTIS attended the workshop, which was held as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration under the PM Gati Shakti Scheme.
Prof. Seema Unnikrishnan of NITIE gave a welcome address to kick off the workshop.
