New Delhi, 9th Oct. The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday released the schedule for the upcoming Legislative Assembly polls in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana.

Chhattisgarh will hold elections in two phases, the first on November 7 and the second on November 17.

Madhya Pradesh will hold elections on November 17.

The elections in Rajasthan and Telangana will take place on November 23 and 30, respectively.

On December 3, all states’ votes will be counted.

The ECI instructed poll observers on Friday to be visible, accessible, neutral, and ethical in their work before revealing the schedule.

CEC Kumar directed them to maintain a level playing field by working together to achieve free, fair, and inducement-free elections.

He went on to say that the ECI was “increasingly concentrating on having a humane face, by facilitating and including persons with disabilities, senior citizens who are 80 years or above and particularly vulnerable tribal groups with the help of special provisions such as home voting and accessible polling stations.”

EC Goel also reminded observers that they are the ECI’s eyes and ears and should respond to complaints promptly.

According to EC Pandey, the elections must not only be fair but also be perceived to be fair.

He directed the observers to monitor social media and take appropriate action.
