New Delhi, 10th Jan. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Ministry of Home Affairs’ proposal to grant the Apex Pay Scale (Level 17 in the pay matrix) to Daljit Singh Chaudhary, IPS (UP:1990), the current Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF). This marks a significant milestone in his illustrious career in India’s civil services.
The Apex Pay Scale is the highest pay grade for civil servants in India, reflecting the exceptional responsibilities and contributions of officers holding critical positions. Chaudhary, known for his leadership and strategic acumen, has played a pivotal role in strengthening India’s border security apparatus.
Prior to his appointment as DG BSF, Chaudhary served as the Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and simultaneously managed additional responsibilities as the BSF chief. His elevation to the Apex Pay Scale underscores the government’s recognition of his commitment and distinguished service.
The BSF, as India’s primary border-guarding force, plays a critical role in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity. Under Chaudhary’s leadership, the BSF has implemented key initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and bolster border security mechanisms.
