Devendra Fadanavis Avoids All-Party Meeting Called by Maharashtra Govt

Mumbai, 25th April. After Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Devendra Fadnavis also missed the all-party meeting called by the Maharashtra government on Monday.

Besides this, Maharashtra chief minister Udhav Thackeray also did not show up for the meeting.

The meeting was presided by Home Minister Dilip Walse and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar at Sahyadri Guest House to examine the law and order situation in Maharashtra amid the row over loudspeakers.

On Shiv Sena’s  behalf, Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde and Transport Minister Anil Parab attended the meeting.

Textile Minister Aslam Shaikh and MLA Nana Patole were present on the Congress’s behalf.

The state Home Minister Dilip Walse on Sunday called for an all-party meeting amid the loudspeaker row which began after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray urged the state government to remove loudspeakers from mosques till May 3 while cautioning that if the request isn’t met, his party members will put loudspeakers to play “Hanuman Chalisa”.
