New Delhi, 7th Dec. The national capital experienced its coldest morning of the season on Saturday, with the minimum temperature dipping to 7.1 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Following three days of ‘moderate’ air quality, Delhi’s air quality deteriorated again, moving into the ‘poor’ category. The city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 222 around 9 am, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board. AQI values between 201 and 300 are classified as ‘poor,’ indicating that the air quality poses a risk to health, especially for sensitive individuals.
Humidity levels in Delhi were recorded at 89 percent at 8.30 am, adding to the chill in the air. The IMD has forecasted mainly clear skies for the rest of the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 25 degrees Celsius.
Residents of the city are urged to take precautions, especially those with respiratory conditions, as the poor air quality may affect overall health.
