Delhi Police detains AAP leaders Raghav Chadha and Atishi

New Delhi, 13th December

Aam Aadmi Party leaders Raghav Chadha and Atishi were detained on Sunday by the Delhi Police. They were on their way to  protest outside the residence of Home Minister Amit Shah and Anil Baijal over the alleged scam of funds by the Municipal Corporation of North Delhi.

The Delhi Police, keeping in mind the Covid-19 protocol, rejected the request of Aam Aadmi Party to stage a protest. Some councillors of the Party along with party’s MLA reached the residence of LG but they were not given permission to enter.

Aam Aadmi Party, in response to the rejection of permission to stage a protest, asked why the BJP leaders were given permission to protest outside CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. Mayors of Municipal Corporation along with other BJP members have been protesting outside the house of CM in demand of release of funds. It appears as if the Covid-19 restrictions are not meant for them.

Aam Aadmi Party had alleged that the North MCD had misappropriated funds of around Rs 2400 crore given by South MCD.
