New Delhi, 26th March. Ahead of the AAP’s protest against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Tuesday that entry and exit gates at Lok Kalyan Marg metro station have been shut for security reasons.
Entry and exit have also been limited at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro stations.
In a statement on X, the DMRC mentioned, “Due to security concerns, entry/exit at Lok Kalyan Marg Metro station, Gate no 3 of Patel Chowk Metro Station, and Gate no 5 of Central Secretariat Metro station will remain closed until further notice.”
The AAP plans to surround Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence to demonstrate against Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Kejriwal was taken into custody by the central agency in relation to a money laundering case associated with the now-defunct Delhi excise policy. He is currently in ED custody until March 28.
