Delhi CM Kejriwal Delegates Independence Day Flag Hoisting to Atishi

New Delhi, 7th August.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has informed the lieutenant governor that Cabinet Minister Atishi will take over the responsibility of hoisting the national flag at the city government’s Independence Day event on August 15.

This development comes as Kejriwal remains incarcerated in Tihar Jail due to ongoing corruption and money laundering investigations related to the Delhi excise policy case.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Wednesday that Kejriwal, who is currently facing legal issues, communicated his decision to Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena from prison. The Chief Minister’s absence from the annual Independence Day function, traditionally held at Chhatrasal Stadium, will be noted as Atishi assumes the ceremonial role of flag bearer.
