New Delhi, 7th June. Delhi Additional DCP South Harsh Vardhan has been appointed as DCP Dwarka after Shankar Choudhary was relieved from the post.
Shankar Choudhary was relieved from the post of DCP after his name cropped up on Saturday for his alleged involvement in a late-night brawl at a south Delhi bar.
However, the Delhi Police PRO issued a statement explaining that there had been a “miscommunication” and that it was a family matter which was resolved later.
However, Shankar Choudhury was relieved from his duty as DCP Dwarka, only a few hours later.
An official order released on June 7 said, The Lt Governor is pleased to order the transfer/posting of four IPS/DANIPS officers, presently posted in Delhi Police, with immediate effect.
Amrendra Singh, IPS 2004-batch, Joint CP/ New Delhi range has been given the Additional charge of Transport Range.
Shankar Choudhary, IPS 2011- batch, has been transferred to the post of DCP/ Police Technology and Implementation.
Delhi Additional DCP South Harsh Vardhan, IPS 2012- batch, has been appointed as DCP Dwarka.
Pawan Kumar, DANIPS 2009- batch, currently serving as Addl. DCP-II South District, has been given the additional charge of DCP-I/South District.
