Dehradun Police Clarifies Fire Engine Incident Involving IPS Officer’s Residence

GG News Bureau
Dehradun, 31st July. A video circulating on social media showing a fire engine parked outside the residence of IPS officer Archana Tyagi, purportedly to “fill tanks,” has prompted a clarification from Dehradun police.

The footage, dated June 15, shows the fire engine outside Tyagi’s home on East Canal Road with no visible signs of fire or smoke. Observers in the video express surprise and question whether fire engines are used for filling water tanks, raising concerns about the availability of fire services in emergencies.

In response, Dehradun police released a statement explaining that the fire engine was dispatched in response to a report of an LPG cylinder leakage at the residence. Senior Superintendent of Police Ajai Singh confirmed that the team was sent to address the leakage, using water to prevent a potential major incident.

Archana Tyagi, a 1993-batch IPS officer currently serving as Additional Director General of Police in Maharashtra, is known for her strict approach to law enforcement. Her life inspired the 2014 film “Mardaani,” starring Rani Mukerji.
