New Delhi, 23rd April.
The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) is leading the way for efficient financial management among central government institutions in India. They have successfully implemented a new software program, “Accounts Manager Software” (AMS), developed entirely by their in-house team.

Early Submission of Annual Accounts Marks Success

This innovative software has demonstrably improved CSIR’s financial management. CSIR was able to generate and submit its annual accounts for the 2023-24 financial year on April 1st, 2024, well ahead of the General Financial Rules (GFR) deadline of June 30th.

User-Friendly Features Enhance Efficiency

The AMS boasts an intuitive interface, making it easy for users to input, track, and manage financial data. It goes beyond simple data entry, generating comprehensive reports like balance sheets, income & expenditure statements, and insightful analytics. These features empower CSIR with valuable data for informed decision-making. Additionally, role-based access ensures robust data security.

Real-Time Monitoring for Timely Intervention

A crucial feature of the AMS is its real-time monitoring capability. This allows CSIR to track financial activities as they happen, enabling timely interventions and better financial decisions.

Improved Transparency and Financial Control

The AMS streamlines financial transactions, accounting, and reporting across CSIR, leading to unparalleled efficiency. It facilitates smooth handling of financial data while ensuring transparency and accuracy in every process. By standardizing financial practices and improving control across all CSIR labs, the software ushers in a new era of financial management for a complex network of employees, pensioners, and project staff.

Developed by an In-House Team

The AMS is a testament to CSIR’s internal talent. The software was created by a dedicated team comprising Shri S.P. Singh, Shri Arvind Khanna, and Ms Akansha Trehan, under the guidance of Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General of CSIR, and Shri Chetan Prakash Jain, Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser of CSIR. The successful implementation across CSIR headquarters and its 37 National Labs nationwide showcases the program’s effectiveness.
