New Delhi, 20th August. Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Monday evening after experiencing a high fever, hospital sources confirmed.

Yechury was admitted to the emergency department of AIIMS. While the hospital did not disclose the exact nature of his illness, a CPI(M) source reported that Yechury had been admitted due to pneumonia following a routine checkup.

The source assured that Yechury is undergoing treatment and is in stable condition. “There is nothing serious; he has been admitted due to pneumonia,” the source said. Yechury had recently undergone cataract surgery, which might have contributed to his current health condition.
