Mumbai, 12th Nov. BJP leader Anurag Thakur launched a sharp attack on the Congress party on Tuesday, accusing it of making a series of unfulfilled promises to the people of Himachal Pradesh. Speaking in Maharashtra during the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming assembly elections, Thakur claimed that the Congress’s rule in the state had led to disillusionment among citizens, who were paying the price for voting the party into power.
Thakur emphasized the Mahayuti alliance’s record of development and urged voters to choose it if they wanted honest governance and continued progress for the state. He criticized Congress for coming to power in Himachal Pradesh with a list of guarantees that, according to Thakur, had failed to materialize months into their rule.
“Congress promised subsidized power, financial aid for women, affordable milk, and job creation, but now people are wondering where those promises went,” Thakur said. He pointed out that the Congress had promised 300 units of free electricity but had instead imposed a cess on electricity consumption, while halting the BJP’s scheme of providing 125 free units of power.
Further accusing Congress of neglecting women’s welfare, Thakur highlighted the unfulfilled pledge of providing Rs 1,500 per month to 23 lakh women. “Not a single rupee has been disbursed. This is a cruel joke on the women who trusted them,” he remarked.
The BJP leader also slammed the Congress for failing to create five lakh jobs, another key promise. He criticized their decision to raise milk prices, increase VAT on petrol and diesel, and their inability to implement the much-touted cow dung procurement scheme.
“They haven’t even managed to procure cow dung from two people. The whole scheme is laughable,” Thakur concluded. He urged voters to reject the Congress’s “empty promises” and vote for the Mahayuti alliance in the upcoming assembly elections.
