New Delhi, 23rd August. As the Congress party prepares for the upcoming Bharat Jodo Yatra, senior party leaders unveiled the Yatra’s logo, tagline, and pamphlet today in the national capital.
The tagline reads, “Mile kadam-Jude vatan,” which roughly translates as “unite steps and the country will get together.”
Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary (Communications), provided additional information about the rally.
“We’ve also launched a website,” said Jairam Ramesh.
The Congress Party plans to launch the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari on September 7th, led by party leader Rahul Gandhi. The march will conclude in Kashmir after 148 days.
The five-month journey is expected to cover 3,500 kilometers and more than 12 states. Every day, the padyatra (march) will cover a distance of 25 kilometers.
Senior Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will attend the padayatras, rallies, and public meetings that will be part of the yatra.
The assembly elections for this year’s state legislature were a disaster for the Congress, and the yatra is seen as an effort to galvanize the party’s loyal voters for the forthcoming elections.
Rahul Gandhi will work with civil society to develop a strategy for the 2024 general elections ahead of his Bharat Jodo Yatra, which begins on September 7 in Kanyakumari.
Gandhi will meet with organizations and individuals working for various sections of society prior to his Bharat Jodo Yatra.
