Jaipur, 8th Nov. Before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress will hold a march similar to the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra between the country’s eastern and western regions, according to party leader Vibhakar Shastri.

The ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter Rajasthan in the first week of December, according to Shastri, and a massive rally is planned at Malakheda in Alwar district.

“A rally from East to West is also proposed. A road map is being prepared. It will be done before the Lok Sabha elections,” Shastri told reporters here.

He said the Bharat Jodo Yatra is “completely non-political” and is aimed at reducing the gap between the rich and poor, creating harmony in the country and raising issues such as inflation and unemployment.

Shastri stated that the route of the Bharat Jodo Yatra for the state will be finalized on Tuesday. “It was originally a 21-day plan, but that may change as Rahul Gandhi will address election rallies in Gujarat,” he said.

The yatra will begin in Jhalawar and travel to Kota, Dausa, and Alwar, among other cities.

In response to Shastri’s claim that the ongoing yatra is apolitical, Congress chief for Rajasthan Govind Singh Dotasra said the march is in protest of “eight years of the BJP’s misrule at the Centre.”

He claimed that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had been speaking out against “misrule” and putting pressure on the Union government.
