New Delhi, 26th March. A Congress leader’s disrespectful post about actress Kangana Ranaut’s entry into politics has caused a new controversy, leading to the National Commission for Women calling for action against the politician.
The post, which included a photo of Ranaut, was shared on the Instagram account of Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate just weeks before the national elections. Kangana Ranaut is running for office on a BJP ticket from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
In response to Shrinate’s comments, Kangana Ranaut took to social media to highlight the various roles she has played, from a prostitute in “Rajjo” to a revolutionary leader in “Thalaivii.”
Ranaut emphasized the importance of treating all women with respect and dignity, urging society to move beyond objectifying women and using their struggles as insults.
Shrinate later released a video clarifying that the inappropriate posts were made without her knowledge and had been deleted as soon as she became aware of them.
Ranaut also shared a screenshot of a conversation in which a Gujarat Congress leader made offensive remarks about her political debut.
Irani expressed her support for Kangana Ranaut and condemned the actions of the Congress leaders, calling for immediate action from the Election Commission of India.
The National Commission for Women also condemned the behavior of Shrinate and Ahir, calling their remarks about Kangana Ranaut disgraceful and unacceptable.
