Congress Attacks Modi, Calling NDA “Narendra Destructive Alliance” Before Swearing-In

New Delhi, 9th June. Prior to his inauguration, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh sharply criticized Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi, branding his alliance the “Narendra Destructive Alliance” (NDA).

Ramesh cast doubt on Modi’s legitimacy, arguing that he had experienced serious moral, political, and personal setbacks.

In reference to May 28, 2023, when Modi and the Sengol entered the new Parliament building, Ramesh claimed that Modi had created a false historical account in order to improve his standing and win over Tamil voters. He claimed that Modi’s aspirations had been rejected by the Tamil voters as well as the larger Indian public.

“The resolution to that drama is now known. The Sengol is still seen as a significant emblem of Tamil history, but Mr. Modi’s aspirations have been rejected by the Tamil and Indian electorates, according to Ramesh.

In addition, Ramesh charged that Modi was being pressured to uphold the Constitution, which he maintained Modi had weakened during the previous ten years. In spite of winning 293 out of 543 seats in the most recent Lok Sabha elections, Modi, according to Ramesh, is now a “vastly diminished ‘one-third’ Pradhan Mantri” who is devoid of credibility. On the other hand, the Congress won 99 seats, with 272 votes in favor in the lower chamber.

Ramesh also criticized Modi’s visit to Rajghat in a different post on X, tying it to the supporters’ ideological positions. He charged that the antagonistic atmosphere created by Modi’s “ideological brotherhood” was the reason behind Mahatma Gandhi’s murder. He accused Modi of moving Gandhi’s statue in Parliament House and of not denouncing colleagues who exalt Gandhi’s killer, Nathuram Godse.

“Aap track record dekhiye: His ideological brotherhood created such a toxic environment of hostility and hatred that it resulted in the cold-blooded murder of the Mahatma on January 30th, 1948,” he said.

Additionally, Ramesh argued that Modi had made up the story that Mahatma Gandhi was not internationally recognized before the 1982 Attenborough film’s premiere. He called Modi’s activities hypocritical and accused him of destroying Gandhian institutions in Varanasi, Ahmedabad, and other places.

“He (Modi) falsely claims that before the Attenborough film of 1982 on him Mahatma Gandhi was not known to the world. He demolishes and destroys Gandhian institutions in Varanasi, Ahmedabad, and elsewhere. Breath-taking hypocrisy!” Ramesh said.
