Gorakhpur, 7th Sept. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday inaugurated the Sainik School in Gorakhpur, emphasizing the vital role of nationalism and education in nation-building.
In his address, the Vice-President termed compromising on nationalism as “the ultimate betrayal to the nation” and urged citizens to stand firm in safeguarding the country’s integrity.
Dhankhar reflected on his own days as a student at Sainik School Chittorgarh, crediting it for shaping his personal and professional journey.
“My biological birth was at Kithana village, but my real birth took place at Sainik School Chittorgarh,” he shared.
Underscoring the transformative power of education, he hailed it as the foundation of societal change, breaking barriers of inequality.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, asserting that “today’s India is not the same as it was ten years ago,” with significant milestones like the abolition of Article 370.
The Vice-President also addressed the cadets, encouraging them to view failure as a stepping stone to success, citing the Chandrayaan-3 mission as an example.
He expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated Sainik School Gorakhpur will serve as a benchmark for other institutions across the nation.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Kamlesh Paswan, and other dignitaries were present at the event.
The Vice-President also inaugurated a shooting range and planted saplings in memory of his late mother.
