Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has ordered an investigation into the murder of a Muslim man in Kushinagar for allegedly promoting the Bharatiya Janata Party.

A Muslim man in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district is accused of being lynched by his neighbors for supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and distributing sweets following the party’s election victory in the state.

Babur, the deceased, was a resident of Kathgarhi village in Kushinagar’s Ramkola Police Station. The incident allegedly occurred on March 20, when Babur was returning from his shop and allegedly chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram,’ prompting his neighbors to thrash him.
According to Babur’s wife Fatima, her husband attempted to flee to the roof of his house to save his life, but the accused people pursued him and threw him off.

According to Babur’s mother, Zebunnisa, the family took him to a local hospital, from which he was referred to the district hospital, and then to Lucknow. Babur died as a result of his injuries while receiving treatment in Lucknow.

According to Babur’s family, their neighbors were upset because Babur used to promote the BJP. According to his family, after the results of the UP Assembly elections, in which the BJP won by a landslide, were announced on March 10, Babur distributed sweets in the neighborhood. The family claimed that his neighbours had repeatedly warned him not to vote for the BJP.

Babur’s family claimed that they went to the Ramkola Police Station after their neighbor threatened Babur. The family, on the other hand, claimed that the authorities ignored their appeals.

Following Babur’s death, his wife Fatima filed a complaint at the police station, which resulted in the filing of a FIR.

He was thrashed on March 20 in Kathargarhi and died as a result of his injuries while being treated at a hospital in Lucknow. When his body was returned to his village on Sunday, his family refused to perform the last rites and demanded the arrest of the perpetrators, according to reports.

PN Kushinagar, MLA Pathak also met with Babur’s family and promised harsh punishment for the accused. He also took part in the deceased’s last rites.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Varun Kumar Pandey, who arrived at the scene, stated that the perpetrators would be arrested and action would be taken against them.

Yogi Adityanath, the state’s chief minister, has ordered an investigation into the incident, expressing his condolences.
