CM Siddaramaiah writes to PM outlining Karnataka’s top objectives and requests

Karnataka, 30th June. Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah submitted a comprehensive letter outlining important requests and goals for Karnataka’s growth to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, following a meeting during which the latter highlighted important matters pertaining to the state’s development and progress.

“Chief Minister Shri @siddaramaiah submitted a detailed letter to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi highlighting key demands and priorities for Karnataka’s development,” the Karnataka Chief Minister stated in a social media post on X. The Chief Minister of Karnataka posted a message on X describing the meeting: “Today in Delhi, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri @siddaramaiah had a productive discussion.

Important topics pertaining to the growth and advancement of Karnataka were covered. devoted to cooperating for the development and prosperity of the state.”

During the conference, the chief minister of Karnataka asked for the approval of several significant state projects, such as the Kalasa Banduri Drinking Water Project, the Bhadra Upper Bank Project, and the Mekedatu Dam Project.

“The Chief Minister @siddaramaiah met with Prime Minister @narendramodi today and requested approval of important state projects,” the Karnataka chief minister stated in a post.”

“It was requested to direct the officials of the Ministry of Water Power and the Ministry of Environment and Forests to release Rs 5,300 crore for the Bhadra Upper Bank Project as announced in the Central Government Budget 2023-2024 and for quick settlement of the Kalasa Banduri Drinking Water Project. The problem of drinking water will be solved due to Mahadai Yojana, a long-time dream project of the people of Kittoor Karnataka region.”

In addition, the CM asked the PM to provide money from the Central Budget to the state government and NHAI so that they can build a tunnel that will assist relieve traffic in Bangalore.

“3,000 crore for the 60 km tunnel to decongest Bangalore city, the project has several benefits,” the Karnataka chief minister tweeted on X. The Central National Highway Authority and the Government of Karnataka might work together to build this tunnel that connects National Highways 7 and 4, and a proposal was made to provide funding to the State Government and NHAI through the Central Budget.”

“Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation has filed a DPR of Rs. 15,611 crore for the construction of 44.65 km of Metro 3rd phase to the Central Government, subject to Union Cabinet clearance, in an effort to stimulate demand for public transportation. asked for permission as soon as feasible. The Ashtapatha Peripheral Ring Road, a 73.04 km long project involving a private-public partnership, has received approval from the state government. The Prime Minister @narendramodi was asked by the Chief Minister @siddaramaiah to set aside the required money in the Union Budget.”

CM Siddaramaiah also requested the issuance of a special grant of Rs 6,000 crore for the development of lakes and peripheral ring roads, which was proposed by the 15th Finance Commission for the period 2021–26.

A grant of Rs 3,000 crore has been set aside by the state government in the budget for the development of seven districts in Kalyan, Karnataka. The central government has been asked to match this amount in its budget for 2024–2025, increase the grant under its development aspiring district program, and make it easier to include new programs in the scheme.
