Patna: With the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for the end of 2025, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has launched a major outreach initiative aimed at half the electorate—women voters. On Friday, the CM flagged off the ‘Mahila Samvad Rath’ from his official residence at 1 Aney Marg in Patna, marking the start of an ambitious awareness campaign to highlight his government’s work for women empowerment.
The specially designed communication van will travel across districts, directly engaging with women to inform them about key government initiatives on education, employment, empowerment, and welfare schemes. The initiative aims to showcase Nitish Kumar’s governance model and achievements in uplifting women in the state.
According to government officials, the campaign will reach villages across Bihar, spreading awareness about various schemes including the Women Empowerment Policy 2025, Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana, Balika Poshak Yojana, Jeevika Mission, Addiction-Free Bihar Campaign, Women Reservation Plan, and efforts to eliminate child marriage and dowry practices.
As part of the campaign, 1,395 locations in Patna alone will witness ‘Mahila Samvad’ programs, where women will receive information through multimedia and interactive sessions. The initiative is widely seen as a strategic move by the Nitish-led JD(U) government to strengthen its support base among women voters ahead of the polls.
Just two days ago, the JD(U) had launched its campaign slogan “2025–2030: Phir Se Nitish”, with a video highlighting the CM’s key promises and development record. The ‘Mahila Samvad Rath’ is now being viewed as a cornerstone of that campaign, emphasizing direct outreach and targeted messaging.
This focused effort reflects the growing importance of women voters in Bihar’s political landscape, and Nitish Kumar appears keen to ensure their support in his bid for another term.
