Hyderabad, 13th Feb. Megastar Chiranjeevi has put an end to speculation about his return to politics, stating that he will remain dedicated to films. His remarks come amid frequent public appearances with political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“I will stay away from politics lifelong. Some people doubt whether I am getting closer to politicians or if they are trying to get close to me. There is no need for any doubt. I am not in it except with the intent of service. Pawan Kalyan will fulfill my vision and mission in politics,” Chiranjeevi clarified.

His younger brother, Pawan Kalyan, is the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Chiranjeevi had previously launched the Praja Rajyam Party in 2008, securing 16% vote share and 18 assembly seats in 2009, before merging it with the Congress and exiting politics.

Meanwhile, his comments about wanting a grandson have stirred controversy. At the pre-release event of the film Brahma Anandam, Chiranjeevi joked, “When I go home, surrounded by my granddaughters, I feel like the warden of a ladies’ hostel. I tell Charan, this time have a boy to continue our legacy. But I am afraid it may be a girl again.”

Critics called the remark sexist and patriarchal, accusing him of undervaluing daughters. However, Chiranjeevi, known for his strong family values, has previously spoken out against misogyny. In 2023, he vocally supported actress Trisha and condemned derogatory remarks made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan.
