Beijing, 23rd Jan.
China has announced the discovery of 168 tons of gold reserves across three mining locations, further bolstering its mineral resource inventory.

The China Geological Survey, under the Ministry of Natural Resources, detailed the findings, reporting:

  • 102.4 tons of gold reserves from the Anbali North mining area in Gansu Province,
  • 41.3 tons from the Hadamengou mining area in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and
  • 24.3 tons from the Baoxinggou mining area in Heilongjiang Province.

These discoveries follow a significant find in November last year when over 1,000 tons of gold reserves were identified at the Wangu Goldfield in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province.

China’s government has intensified its exploration and investments in locating critical mineral resources.

On January 18, officials also announced the discovery of a 1.15-million-ton deposit of rare earth elements in Yunnan Province, highlighting the nation’s ongoing efforts to secure strategic materials essential for industrial and technological development.
