New Delhi, 28th March.
The first Delhi Assembly session after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest began with loud protests. Aam Aadmi Party members wore yellow shirts and masks with Kejriwal’s face on them, leading to the session being adjourned for 15 minutes right at the start.

Upon resuming, Speaker Ram Niwas Goel urged for peaceful continuation of the session, but the AAP members continued their protest. Simultaneously, BJP leaders also protested, demanding Kejriwal’s resignation.

The session was adjourned until April 1.

Prior to the session, AAP MLAs protested outside the assembly, chanting slogans for Kejriwal’s immediate release. Party leaders like Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj joined the protest, wearing yellow T-shirts with slogans supporting Kejriwal.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last week in connection with a money laundering case related to the now-defunct Delhi excise policy. He remains in ED custody until March 28, and has challenged his arrest in court.
