Chilka, 3rd June. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan visited INS Chilka, the premier ab-initio training establishment of the Indian Navy, to review the ongoing Agniveer training programs.
During his visit, the CDS was briefed on the critical role INS Chilka plays in shaping the future sea warriors of the Indian Navy. An overview of the Agniveer training activities and an analysis of the batches trained to date were provided.
Addressing the Agniveers, General Chauhan highlighted the significance of the ‘Agnipath Scheme’ as a major reform aimed at maintaining a youthful profile in the armed services and contributing to nation-building by producing skilled, disciplined, and motivated youth. He urged the Agniveers to concentrate on their training to become technologically proficient sea warriors and engaged with them to address their queries.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the training processes, the CDS toured the training infrastructure at INS Chilka. He praised the training faculty for their high standards of instruction and their role in shaping the next generation of sea warriors.
