New Delhi, 30th Sept. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday.
The meeting took place just hours after Gen Chauhan took over as India’s new Chief of Defence Staff.
The post became vacant after the country’s first CDS, Gen Bipin Rawat, died in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu last December.

The interaction between Gen Chauhan and Singh was described as a courtesy meeting by officials.
His appointment to the top post comes amid a lingering border dispute between Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh.
