New Delhi, 1st Dec. The Central Board of Secondary Education will not be awarding any division or distinction in the class 10 and 12 board exams, an official said on Friday. This decision was made to avoid unhealthy competition among students.
The CBSE Examination Controller, Sanyam Bhardwaj, stated that no overall division, distinction, or aggregate of marks will be awarded.
Bhardwaj also mentioned that the Board does not calculate, declare, or inform the percentage of marks. If the percentage of marks is required for higher education or employment, the admitting institution or employer will be responsible for calculating it.
This change is in line with the CBSE’s decision to stop issuing merit lists.
