Indore, 21st May. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated legal action against an Indore-based individual for allegedly sexually abusing and intimidating a minor from Australia through the social media platform Instagram, officials revealed on Monday.
According to reports, the CBI received information from Interpol indicating that Ankur Shukla, a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, had purportedly developed a relationship with a girl from Australia via Instagram.
In the course of their interactions, Shukla allegedly coerced the minor girl into sharing objectionable images and videos, a process commonly referred to as “grooming,” as stated by the CBI in an official statement. Moreover, when the girl hesitated to provide further content, Shukla allegedly resorted to threats, warning her that he would distribute the material to her friends and family if she refused. Under duress, the girl continued to share videos and images with him.
Despite the girl blocking Shukla on Instagram, he reportedly persisted in intimidating her through WhatsApp.
The CBI, leveraging its technical capabilities, conducted investigations to pinpoint Shukla’s exact location and gather evidence against him. Subsequently, searches were carried out at his residence, leading to the recovery of incriminating materials such as computer hard disks and mobile phones.
