BSP Leader Shot Dead in Ambala; Police Launch Investigation

Ambala, 25th Jan. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Harbilas Singh Rajjumajra was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Naraingarh on Friday evening, police said on Saturday. The incident occurred while Rajjumajra, accompanied by two friends, Puneet and Gugal, was traveling in a car.

The attackers opened fire on the vehicle, injuring Puneet as well. All three were rushed to PGIMER, Chandigarh, where Rajjumajra succumbed to his injuries later that night. Puneet is reported to be out of danger, while Gugal escaped unhurt.

Police have yet to identify the perpetrators. Naraingarh SHO Lalit Kumar visited the crime scene to commence the investigation, and Superintendent of Police, Ambala, S.S. Bhoria confirmed that a special police team has been formed to apprehend the culprits.

Local BSP leaders in Ambala have called for swift action to bring the attackers to justice. Rajjumajra, who contested the assembly elections from Naraingarh last year but lost, was an influential figure in the region.

Authorities have assured the public of a thorough investigation and appealed for any information that could aid in solving the case.
