Chandigarh, 4th Oct. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, slammed the BJP on Friday, claiming that the “disease of unemployment” has jeopardized the security of Haryana and the future of its youth.

He assured that a Congress government would bring back employment opportunities and prosperity for every family in the state.

Gandhi shared a video on X, showcasing his interaction with women during his recent Vijay Sankalp Yatra.

In his post, he emphasized the severe impact of unemployment, stating, “The disease of unemployment spread by BJP has put the roots of Haryana, the future of the youth, and the security of the state in deep danger.”

He highlighted Haryana’s alarming unemployment rate, the highest in India, and attributed this crisis to the BJP’s failure over the past decade.

“The BJP has broken the backbone of every system that provides employment to the youth of the state,” he alleged.

Gandhi criticized the government’s policies, including the flawed Goods and Services Tax (GST) and demonetization, which he claimed have harmed small businesses.

He also condemned the Agniveer scheme for disheartening youth preparing for military service and expressed concern for farmers affected by contentious laws.

“The BJP has broken families by halting government recruitment through ‘Parivar Pehchan Patra,'” he stated, adding that the fallout has led to youth being drawn into drugs, crime, and despair.

In response, he vowed that a Congress-led government would create 200,000 permanent jobs and work towards making Haryana drug-free.

“I have promised the sisters of Haryana that I will stop this devastation, I will protect their children—employment will return, and every family will be prosperous,” Gandhi asserted.
