Jaipur, 4th May. The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold its office-bearers meeting in Jaipur on May 20-21 to discuss its approach for upcoming elections in states and review the current political situation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address one of the sessions virtually, sources said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party national president J P Nadda will preside over the meet, and all its national office-bearers besides state party chiefs and key organisational leaders will attend the meeting.

Party’s decision to hold the key meeting in the Congress-ruled Rajasthan is politically important as the party has been pursuing to corner the state government over a host of issues, including recent incidents of communal violence in several places.

Notably, the Congress party is also holding its “chintan shivir” in the state next week.

Rajasthan will go to the elections in the second half of the next year.

BJP state units are expected to present a report on their organizational works in the meeting which is also likely to discuss the political situation, especially in states like Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka.

While Gujarat and Himachal are set for assembly elections later this year, Karnataka is slated for assembly polls in the first half of the next year.
