BJP Seeks Dismissal of Delhi Govt, Submit Memorandum to President

GG News Bureau
New Delhi, 10th Sept. A political uproar has erupted in Delhi over the governance of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has escalated its demands by meeting with President Droupadi Murmu, urging for the dismissal of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government. The BJP alleges that Kejriwal’s imprisonment has created a ‘constitutional crisis’ in Delhi.

On August 30, Delhi BJP legislators, led by Vijender Gupta, met the President and submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate dismissal of the Kejriwal government. The BJP’s memorandum argues that the ongoing crisis has rendered Delhi’s administrative system dysfunctional and undermined constitutional stability.

The President’s Secretariat has forwarded the BJP’s memorandum to the Home Secretary for review. The Secretariat noted that appropriate attention needs to be given to the alleged ‘constitutional crisis’ in Delhi. On the same day, Gupta and other BJP legislators also raised concerns about the Delhi government’s administration, financial irregularities, and the general condition of the public during their meeting with the President.

The complaints lodged with the President have been acknowledged, and the President has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to address the issues raised. The BJP’s memorandum highlights several issues under Kejriwal’s government, including irregularities in the liquor policy and financial mismanagement within the Delhi Jal Board.

In response to the memorandum, the Home Ministry has been instructed to consider the grievances and take necessary action.
