New Delhi, 26th August. BJP leadership has reprimanded actor-politician Kangana Ranaut after her recent comments on the farmers’ protest sparked controversy. The BJP clarified that Ranaut’s remarks do not reflect the party’s official stance and instructed her to refrain from making such statements in the future.

Ranaut, a BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, suggested that the farmers’ protest could have led to a crisis similar to that in Bangladesh if not for the government’s decisive actions. The BJP’s statement emphasized that Ranaut is not authorized to speak on policy matters on behalf of the party.

In response to the backlash, BJP leaders in Haryana and Punjab advised Ranaut to avoid making inflammatory comments. Punjab BJP leader Harjit Grewal stressed that Ranaut’s remarks were personal and not reflective of the party’s views, highlighting the party’s commitment to farmer-friendly policies and condemning the opposition for leveraging her comments for political gains.

Congress leader Randeep Surjewala also weighed in, questioning whether Ranaut’s comments were solely her own or if they represented a broader issue within the BJP. Surjewala criticized the BJP for its silence on the matter, referencing the year-long farmers’ protest in Haryana and Ranaut’s history of provocative statements.

Ranaut has previously faced criticism for her comments on the farmers’ protest, including an incident in 2020 where she allegedly misidentified a protester and made disparaging remarks. This latest controversy has added fuel to ongoing debates about her public statements and their impact on political discourse.
