BJP Mahila Morcha Chief Vanathi Srinivasan’s Humility Shines at Delhi CM Oath Ceremony

New Delhi: Vanathi Srinivasan, the National President of the BJP Mahila Morcha, attended the swearing-in ceremony of Delhi’s newly elected Chief Minister Rekha Gupta with quiet dignity. Alongside Rajya Sabha MP Sangeeta Yadav and other colleagues, she took a seat behind the media block, away from the main stage, watching the proceedings with a composed smile. While her colleagues discussed whether they should approach the stage, Vanathi calmly responded, “It’s the Prime Minister’s program; everything is pre-decided. We are here as party workers to celebrate the success of a fellow worker becoming the Chief Minister.”

Rekha Gupta, who took the oath as Delhi’s CM, serves as the National Vice President in Vanathi’s team. As Rekha stepped forward to take her oath, Vanathi’s face lit up with pride, as if witnessing a younger sister achieve a milestone. Recalling a past moment, one of her fellow party workers pointed at the screen and said, “Remember when Rekha met PM Modi at an Odisha event and told you, ‘Akka, because of you, I got to meet Modi ji.’ Look at her now—she is sitting beside him as Delhi’s Chief Minister.”

For any political party, dedicated workers like Vanathi are invaluable—those who contribute selflessly, remain content without seeking the spotlight, and take immense joy in the success of their colleagues. Notably, Vanathi Srinivasan had defeated actor-politician Kamal Haasan in the Coimbatore Assembly elections.
