BJP Forms 132-Member State Election Committee for J&K Assembly Polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the formation of a 132-member State Election Management (SEM) committee on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Jugal Kishore Sharma, a three-time MP recently appointed as a whip in the Lok Sabha, has been named chairman of the BJP’s election campaign committee.

The announcement was made by Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina in consultation with the party’s national president J.P. Nadda, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who is in charge of the elections for the Union Territory, and BJP national general secretary and Jammu and Kashmir Prabhari Tarun Chugh.

Assem Gupta will serve as the convenor of the committee, while Rajiv Jasrotia, Pawan Khajuria, and Shouqat Gayoor Andrabi have been appointed as co-convenors.
